Client experiences
Here's some feedback from our clients about their experiences with coaching and training.
Coaching
The coaching experience and outcomes are dependant on the amount of energy / commitment of the individual. I found the experience far more rewarding once I fully embraced the idea. I feel I have greatly benefited as a result.

Coaching has changed my life more than I thought possible, I am more focused now. I would like to thank my coach Anne for all her help and support during my coaching you have really helped me change things in my life I didn't think I could.
Craig, Glasgow
Anne, I want to thank you profusely for my life-coaching.
I wasn't unhappy with my life but realised it could probably be more fulfilling. My first meeting with you revealed that many experiences in my life were dictating the way I lived my life. Due to trust issues I had shut myself off from relationships of any kind outwith immediate family and work and had become completely self-sufficient and self-reliant. Once outgoing and happy-go-lucky to anti-social. This was the area of my life that required most attention and the area with which I expected to have most difficulty. Not so. Anne, from taking the first tentative steps of trying to engage in the odd social event, I cannot believe the difference in my life. The weekends go by with hardly a minute to spare. I have interesting things to tell people, I laugh genuinely. I have also realised that some people in my life don't deserve their space and have been 'parked' indefinitely. This is only one goal. With the others, my house looks better than ever and I am making plans towards a new career. My priorities have completely changed. I even see things differently. I was happy plodding through life with nothing for me but satisfying everyone else's expectations. Now I'm living life like everyday could be my last and cherishing ALMOST every minute.
I expected coaching to have a short-term impact but I can honestly say that it was a cathartic experience. I now expect as much for myself as I would try to give others. I WANT to enjoy life and having a good time now comes naturally and it's not just me who notices.
Linda, Glasgow
Coaching was a positive, supportive experience where I had a sense of my Coach 'getting alongside'. Our discussions helped clarify confused thinking about what I really wanted to achieve from my life at this point in my 30's . I chose goals that really stretched my potential, ones which felt well out of reach at the start of the coaching process. I was helped to breakdown what appeared to be some impossibly giant problems into manageable proportions. Establishing strategies, identifying step-by step action plans, encouragement to address fears and support to nourish confidence were all helpful stepping stones along the way.

Networking
With training being so key in business these days, it is important that JCI Glasgow as a development organisation is able to offer top class, up-to-date training events for our members and guests, as well as making it relevant to their needs. Networking is an area that we all have to partake of and so it is important to know how to do it well and without fear. As a co-founder and partner in Grow! Networking as well as being an excellent networker and experienced trainer Anne McGhee of Successful Steps ran a 'No More Networking Nightmares' event for us and really broke it down into easy to achieve steps, in a fun and interactive way. There is nothing worse than sitting still for two hours after a full days work, but the event flew by, was great fun and I believe we all learnt a lot! I'm champing at the bit to get going - so networking - bring it on!
Murrae Ross-Eskell, Chairman, JCI Glasgow
I really appreciated this course - it had a great balance of highlighting the benefits and importance of networking but at the same time demystifying the whole process with simple to follow techniques and guidelines.
Julie Ommer, Director of Sport and Recreation Service, University of Glasgow
I enjoyed Successful Step's approach to Networking. Anne's workshop was really informative, and she presented new ways of looking at what to do when in a networking situation. I have used her techniques very successfully. It has taken the pain out of networking for me and given me confidence to enjoy these events.

This workshop definitely provided a positive learning experience. I am now aware of the many organised networking opportunities available. All of the activities within the workshop were good fun and enjoyable. Highly beneficial and highly recommended.
